Lebanon's Miracle Tree Branch

Bint Jbeil, South Lebanon -- It all started with an innocent idea, one of Bint Jbeil's residents wanted to appreciate the Lebanese fighters who died defending their hometown (Bint Jbeil) against Israeli aggression in July 2006. So he found a lifeless branch tree, painted it dark brown to preserve it and placed on it the names of the Lebanese martyrs who died defending Lebanon. The tree branch (art piece) was placed in victory exhibits at different occasions. It was displayed as a piece of art by a local artist. Then comes the July victory anniversary in July 2007. The organizers of the event picked the tree branch from its storage/display place in the exhibit and moved it to Bint Jbeil for visitors enjoyment. Few days after it was placed in the new victory exhibit in Bint Jbeil, the custodian of the art piece started observing green sprouts with lively green leafs coming out on the side of the branch. The number of the green leafs matched the number of names that were placed on the branch.

An independent engineer of agriculture commented on the branch as a "miracle in modern science." As it is unknown that a lifeless branch tree can rejuvenate itself as in the case of the Bint Jbeil's tree branch. The newly opened Victory Exhibit in Bint Jbeil has received over 15,000 to date.

The painted tree branch with the names of the town's martyred fighters placed on it. In the middle of the branch, new green growth can be seen.

A different view of the lifeless branch. Until further logical explanation is given, in the minds of the locals faithful, this explanation can be attributed only to heavenly care and guidance; as martyrs never die. To them, the new life from a dead branch tree is a miracle.
